Japan Today reports that thieves stole over 200 high-end watches worth over $3 million from Tenshodo, a jewelry store located in Tokyo’s high-end Ginza shopping district on 1st January.The robbers bored a hole into the concrete wall of the Tenshodo store to gain entrance. The theft is believed to have taken place after a security guard patrolled the basement at 4:20 p.m. Friday. Security guards are stationed at the building around the clock.
In a similar raid last February, £330,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from another Ginza store through a hole bored into a concrete wall. Police said that it was not yet clear whether the two thefts were linked.

A Chinese naval bulk carrier was hijacked in the India Ocean for many days. As a security industry practitioners; I have designed a set of effective defense system; hoping it would provide some help to our ocean vessels.

Although the rich and famous of Los Angeles protect their mansions with high walls, security cameras and sophisticated alarms they have failed to stop a small team of burglars who have hit about 50 homes over the past few years and got away with an estimated $7m (£3.4m) treasure in cash, rare books and jewelry. Police reluctantly described the burglars as “professionals”. A councilor called them a “two-man crime wave”. So far they have left no significant clues: no fingerprints, no DNA, no alarms triggered and only fuzzy camera shots. While the police have refused to give details, one officer said the burglars had climbed through a second-floor window in one burglary, thereby evading the alarm system, and, in another, had used a brick to smash patio sliding glass doors, even though these are normally among the first areas in which alarms are installed. A raid on a Mayfair jeweller is believed to be the biggest gems heist in British history
An armed gang took a woman hostage as they stole £40 million worth of rings, necklaces and bracelets from an exclusive store in what is thought to be Britain’s biggest jewellery robbery. Two smartly-dressed armed robbers stole jewellery worth almost £40 million from Graff Jewellers in London’s West End on August 06. They arrived in a taxi at Graff’s jewellers in Bond Street, Central London, and were admitted through the security doors into the store, which caters for celebrities including the Beckhams. Once inside they produced handguns and forced the staff to the floor, apart from one woman who was told to open a display cabinet. Within minutes they had grabbed 43 items and thrown them into a holdall before briefly taking the female worker hostage as they left.
The case has exposed problem that many people thought it will be inevitable. People always focus their more attention on unmanned security environment than the normal operating places since a long time.
